Anonymous Tosh

Hieronymous Bosch was a genius. Anonymous Tosh is a collective.

These drawings were made during a trip to Venice, Italy. They are all in some way connected to, or inspired by the 15th Century Dutch painter Hieronymous Bosch, several of whose enigmatic and visionary works are on permanent display at the Palazzo Ducale.

In this series of delicately subversive drawings, the mood is at once sinister yet playful, suggesting the mysterious forces at work in the dark back streets and canals of Venice. The child-like charm of the animal drawings in particular belies an uncommon technical skill and understanding of the medium, whilst the tension in the abstracts prevents the work from ever seeming frivolous.

The drawings were made using traditionally crafted Murano glass pens, Venetian coloured inks and WHSmith gel pens.
