Hieronymus Bosch is a genius. Anonymous Tosh™ was a collective. These drawings were made during a trip to Venice, Italy — all of them connected in some way to, or inspired by, the 15th-century Dutch painter, several of whose enigmatic and visionary works are on permanent display at the Palazzo Ducale.

In this series of delicately subversive drawings, the mood is at once sinister and playful, hinting at the mysterious forces at work in the dark back streets and canals of Venice. The child-like charm of the animal drawings in particular belies an uncommon technical skill and understanding of the medium, while the tension in the abstracts keeps the work from ever tipping into frivolity. The drawings were made using traditionally crafted Murano glass pens, Venetian coloured inks, and WHSmith gel pens.
