Part one of this collection was originally inspired by the song ‘The garden of my mind’ by the 1960s mod/rock group The Mickey Finn. Hours were spent listening to music whilst letting the hand create intricate pencil drawings with no clear idea of what the finished piece would look like. All that is known is when it’s time to stop. Each of the drawings were then pieced together to make a larger scale composition.
Part two, currently in progress, is inspired by another Mickey Finn song ‘Night Comes Down’ and utilises Albrecht Dürer coloured pencils.

Part one: The garden of my mind
Lyrics Nothing hurts my tired eyes Because I refuse to pass you by Come with me until we find Peace in the garden of my mind.
Your love is the key now open the door To a beauty you’ve never known before The things you want are here to find In the garden of my mind
Follow me into a world of imagination Follow me and you will realise Follow me and you will see love’s creation In my mind
My heart it hears a millions sounds Because love has got me chained and bound Take my hand and cross the line Into the garden of my mind
Follow me into a world of imagination Follow me and you will realise Follow me and you will see love’s creation In my mind
